Who are we?
YUMEQUITA is born from the bond between its CEO Melba Lucia Mier Barros and Stefan De Lombaert and their passion for Colombian craftsmanship.
Stefan – a Belgian – found his love Melba in Cali, where she settled after living her youth in Santa Marta, and convinced her 10 years ago to live their lives in Belgium.
Recently Melba wanted to promote the woven products of the Wayuu Indians.
Why YUMEQUITA?
YUMEQUITA refers to the nickname for ladies selling coconuts on the Colombian beaches.
Melba’s father called her Yumequita and nowadays Melba also uses this name for her grand-daughter
